Deidre Schunk, our US-based Manager, Compliance Services & PCD, has been with RLDatix Life Sciences for the past 10 years. From compassionately leading a team of 5 to delving into international codes and laws to provide vital information for compliance professionals, she exemplifies our “Customer Focused” Core Value in everything she does.
We sat down with Deidre to chat about life at RLDatix, her career journey, and what she’s been up to outside of work.
Why did you decide to join the team?
Deidre has been working in the Compliance Digest for 11 years now in one aspect or another. She was originally a part of Porzio LifeSciences, which then became RLDatix LifeSciences after its acquisition
What keeps you working here?
Deidre shares the main reasons she’s continued to be a part of the RLDatix Life Sciences team:
“I remain at RLDatix largely because of the people. Interacting with my colleagues has always been a highlight of my workday, and I truly enjoy the camaraderie within our office. Moreover, I find great satisfaction in the work we do, particularly the research we conduct to ensure that we deliver the most up-to-date information on laws, regulations, and codes to meet the needs of our customers.”
She highlights what makes working with her team specifically such a positive experience:
“My team is great! They are a very nice group of people with different personalities. I have started doing individual weekly meetings with everyone, and I enjoy learning something about them personally.”
How would you describe working here?
“My experience at RLDatix has been fascinating. With numerous moving parts, it’s been a process of adjusting to the dynamics of who handles what. Recently, I had the privilege of participating in a management training class where individuals from diverse backgrounds worldwide shared their work experiences and ideas. Having such an opportunity was truly amazing!”
What does your role here entail?
Deidre started out as a Regulatory Analyst and now has the Manager, Compliance Services & PCD title. In her day-to-day work, she manages a team of five Regulatory Analysts who are responsible for curating content for RLDatix LifeSciences Compliance Digest. She explains, ” The Digest serves as the premier resource for compliance professionals seeking in-depth regulatory analysis of global, federal, and state laws that govern the marketing and sale of pharmaceuticals and medical devices.”
What are your favorite parts of working in Compliance Services?
“Learning the laws, regulations, and codes for not only the US but globally, as well.”
Have any advice for people looking to join the field themselves?
“Be open to new things. People are always willing to lend a hand and share their knowledge.”
Deidre also shares an important lesson she’s learned in her career:
“You need to give yourself time to learn a subject and some things take more time than others.”
Outside of work, what are you up to? Tell us a bit about yourself!
During her free time, Deidre loves to garden and spend time at the lake in Vermont with her family and two dogs. She’s also recently started to learn how to box!

She’s clearly a dog lover, not just for her two furry family members, but has also fostered more than 25 shelter puppies over the years!
