Treonia Gardner, our US-based Senior Recruiter, has been with RLDatix for the past two years and has been instrumental in our growth in North America and, more recently, abroad.
From being responsible for recruiting our VP of Product to always seeking to improve the candidate experience, she exemplifies our “Passion with Purpose” Core Value in everything she does. We sat down with Treonia to chat about life at RLDatix, her career journey, and what she’s been up to outside of work.
Why did you decide to join RLDatix?
Before joining RLDatix, Treonia had worked in a combination of human resources and recruitment roles for the previous five years. She was interested in her current role because she knew she “could make a difference in the technology field by bringing [her] diverse mindset, and also play a huge part in ensuring t candidates felt valued while they interviewed”.
“Healthcare has been a passion of mine since I was a child, so knowing that my role helps choose the people who are creating and implementing important software into healthcare organizations allows me to feel as though I am still making an impact on the healthcare industry.”
What keeps you working here?
Treonia shares the main reasons she’s continued to be a part of the RLDatix team:
“The culture at RLDatix is very flexible, transparent, and truly a place where you can grow. I was able to put myself through my Master of Business Administration program because of the flexible work schedule.”
In addition to the flexible work environment allowing her to pursue her degree, she’s also grateful for the culture of her immediate team. She shares:
“The TA team has a very joyful attitude towards their work. We come together, communicate well, discuss any issues we may experience in our world, and receive feedback on how to be better. It’s truly a learning environment on our team.”
What does your role at RLDatix entail?
Treonia was recently promoted to Senior Recruiter on the Talent Acquisition team, where her role consists of “finding top talent for RLDatix while also building meaningful relationships with hiring managers and candidates.”
What are your favorite parts of working in Recruitment?
“Working in recruitment allows me to make an impact not only on the organization but the employee as well. I have had candidates reach out to me, letting me know that their interview experience was one to remember and made them feel the most comfortable compared to other organizations they have talked to.”
Have any advice for people looking to join the field themselves?
“If you have a true interest in helping people succeed, recruiting comes naturally. Learning the industry will be helpful, but also make sure you keep the human inside of human resources. Don’t become a robot by solely delivering on task while losing connection to others.”
Treonia also shares one of the biggest lessons she’s learned in her career so far:
“Be your authentic self. Change is great, but don’t lose yourself in the process of trying to fit into a world you were never meant to fit in with. Be you, be open, and continue to strive to be better than yesterday while remaining true to you!”
Outside of work, what are you up to? Tell us a bit about yourself!
Treonia loves to flex her creativity through pottery, contribute to community service, curate events, and travel! One of her favorite places to travel has been Cuba, where she had the opportunity to celebrate her birthday by horseback riding and learning all about Cuban culture.
