Kimberli's Story of Advocating for Patients and the People Who Care for Them

Kimberli Corcoran, MSN, RN, NE-BC, has spent 20 years advocating for patients and the people who care for them. Throughout her career in nursing, patient safety, quality, and healthcare leadership, one belief has remained constant: the people closest to care often see problems before anyone else does.

Kim learned early in her career that frontline teams usually know where risk is building. They see the workarounds, the frustrations, and the small signals that something is not working as intended. The challenge is making sure those insights are heard and acted on before harm occurs.

"That gap between what people know at the bedside and what leaders can see and respond to has shaped how I think about safety, technology, and operational improvement," says Kim.

Before joining RLDatix, Kim was a customer, a system administrator, and a healthcare leader navigating many of the same challenges our customers face today. She understands the competing priorities, limited resources, and constant pressure healthcare organizations manage every day.

That experience is what attracted her to RLDatix.

Today, as Director of the Customer Center of Excellence, Kim works across the organization to ensure customer experiences help shape conversations about products, strategy, implementation, and operations.

Her role is simple: listen, connect the dots, and make sure customer voices are represented where decisions are being made.

She often comes back to a few questions:

  • Does this solve a real problem?
  • Does it make life easier for customers?
  • Does it reflect how healthcare actually works?
  • Will it help organizations identify risk sooner and take action faster?

Better outcomes are always her goal because, as Kim explains, “healthcare organizations are not looking for software alone. They are looking for help solving real operational and safety problems.”

The most rewarding part of her work is hearing customers describe a breakthrough moment, when they finally see a risk, trend, or opportunity they could not see before and can do something about it.

As Kim puts it, success is when a customer says, "We can finally see what we've been missing."
