Employee Spotlight: Markus Kabell

Ironman Journey, Cross-Team Sales Connector


Markus Kabell is our Germany-based Sales Manager! His path to RLDatix started 6 years ago as a Consultant focused on project implementations. Since joining the company, he has grown through different roles, continuously learning and taking on new challenges along the way, which has required close collaboration across many of our teams.

We sat down with Markus to chat about his life at RLDatix, his career path, and what he’s been up to outside of work.

What led you to join TeamRLD?

With many people close to him working in healthcare and through his own background in HR within a hospital group, Markus gained early insight into the operational challenges of the sector. As a result, working on solutions that improve workforce management in healthcare aligned well with both his interests and experience.

As a Consultant at RLDatix, Markus was keen to get involved in implementation projects and work closely with customers. The role required close collaboration across multiple teams, and experiencing the expertise and commitment of his colleagues played a key role in his decision to continue his journey at RLDatix and move into Sales.

 

What’s it like working on your immediate team?

Markus describes the Sales team as highly goal-oriented, with a strong shared focus on delivering real value for customers and consistently keeping their perspective in mind, which makes the collaboration especially motivating for him.

“Having Markus, Kerstin, and Christoph on the team plays an important role. They lead by example and show how a strong customer focus and high standards go hand in hand, setting the tone through their mindset and dedication.”

 

What keeps you working here?

Markus embraces the opportunity and responsibility that come with his role in the Sales team, allowing him to actively shape customer relationships in the German market. Through this, he continues to deepen his understanding of market dynamics and customer needs in Germany. He points out that he especially likes what he does because he “strongly believes in our software and its potential to modernize workforce management in the German healthcare system.”

 

What does your role at RLDatix entail?

Mainly, Markus is working with prospective clients from start to end. He connects with them at industry events, follows up with the proposal process after understanding their challenges, presents solutions that support their goals and handles their contracts.

“A highlight for me was signing my first new customer in Sales and celebrating with the team, who were genuinely happy for me.”

He particularly enjoys “collaborating with our Product and Professional Services teams, as it allows us to combine expertise and turn complex topics into clear, practical solutions.”

 

What is your favorite part of working in Sales?  

He reflects on the competitive nature of sales and the need to adapt to each potential customer, learn new things, and challenge oneself. However, the most worthwhile reward he thought of is seeing the end result when our software is implemented and hearing how it concretely contributes to improving healthcare.

 

Do you have any advice for people looking to join the field themselves?

Markus shared that "Developing a good gut feeling and paying attention to the small details often makes the real difference. It’s not just about selling, but about listening carefully, understanding real challenges, and continuously learning. Being comfortable with change, new technologies and a bit of healthy competition helps a lot."

 

Outside of work, what are you up to? Tell us a bit about yourself!

Markus is very active and currently preparing for an Ironman in 2026, while continuing to enjoy a wide range of sports, with a particular passion for ball sports. With all that training comes his kryptonite, which may or may not be a trip to McDonald’s.

He enjoys travelling in many different ways, from backpacking in Asia and road trips through Mexico to sailing trips with friends. At least once a year, he and his significant other travel to Italy to enjoy la dolce vita with good coffee, pizza, pasta, and Aperol.
