Director, Procurement | Finance & Strategic Operations | US – Office Locations Preferred | Hybrid

RLDatix (RLD) is on a mission to help raise the standard of care everywhere. Trusted by thousands of healthcare organizations globally, our solutions help ensure that patients receive the best and safest care while supporting the providers who deliver it.

Joining TeamRLD means being part of a global effort of over 2,000 team members making a difference in healthcare every day.

We’re searching for a Director of Procurement (North America) to join our Finance & Strategic Operations team, so that we can manage technology and enterprise spend more systematically, securely, and efficiently. The Director of Procurement will build and lead our procurement function—across software, technology, and broader vendor spend—to deliver better commercial outcomes, stronger governance, and more mature, scalable processes across RLDatix.

How You’ll Spend Your Time

  • Lead and mature RLDatix’s procurement function to standardize intake, evaluation, negotiation, and approval processes for any spend over $50K, with a focus on software and technology.

  • Partner with Finance, CIS, Engineering, Legal, Compliance, Security, and business leaders to shape a pragmatic procurement engagement model that protects the business without “sending everything to RFP.”

  • Negotiate complex software and services agreements—including licensing, usage‑based pricing, renewals, and consolidations—to optimize commercial value while supporting business growth and adoption.

  • Develop and refine procurement governance: locking down card and license purchasing, refining policies, and creating auditable workflows that support areas such as AI governance and data protection.

  • Use tools like NetSuite and other internal systems to track spend, identify savings opportunities, and build dashboards and KPIs that measure procurement performance and process health.

  • Introduce and champion new technologies (including AI‑driven tools and agents) that increase visibility, control, and speed across the procurement lifecycle and asset management activities.

  • Build and lead a small, high‑performing team (initially you plus one existing resource, with a path to a 4–5 person team) through coaching, clear expectations, and consistent feedback.

  • Interface cross‑functionally across regions and functions to understand needs, challenge assumptions where needed, and help the business distinguish between what we should buy and what we should build.

  • Continuously assess our current landscape (“we don’t know what we don’t know”) and translate insights into a prioritized roadmap of process improvements, policies, and tooling recommendations.

What Kind of Things We’re Most Interested in You Having

  • Significant (8+ years) procurement experience in a Technology/SaaS environment, including recent hands‑on responsibility for software negotiations and vendor management.

  • Experience supporting a company of roughly $500M+ in revenue, with comfort operating in complex, multi‑stakeholder, fast‑moving environments.

  • Proven success designing and executing strategic sourcing strategies that span intake, evaluation, negotiation, and renewal across multiple categories—especially software and technology.

  • In‑depth knowledge of procurement governance and compliance, including building or maturing policies, controls, and audit‑ready documentation for spend, vendor, and asset management.

  • Ability to commute to our Chicago office 2–3 days per week, with flexibility for North America‑based candidates who can travel periodically to Chicago as needed.

  • Strong cross‑functional collaboration skills, with a track record of building trusted relationships with Finance, IT/CIS, Engineering, Legal, Compliance, Security, and business leaders.

  • High degree of technology fluency and curiosity, including awareness of evolving trends (such as AI and agents) and how to apply them in a procurement context.

  • A proactive, builder mindset: comfortable stepping into an environment without a fully established procurement organization and creating structure, processes, and KPIs from the ground up.

  • Recognition (for example, via LinkedIn recommendations) from stakeholders outside of Procurement—such as business, technology, or vendor partners—for vendor management, negotiation, or stakeholder leadership.
