We're searching for a Chicago-based US Corporate Income Tax Manager to join our Global Tax & Treasury team, so that we can execute advanced tax strategies across multiple jurisdictions and optimize tax efficiency while ensuring full compliance with complex regulations. This individual contributor will translate intricate legislation into practical business guidance, manage tax risk, support major transactions, and deliver enhanced reporting in order to support organizational growth.
How You'll Spend Your Time
Oversee US federal, state, and local income/franchise tax filings and drive efficiency, accuracy, and automation of tax compliance and reporting processes.
Manage the tax provision process in accordance with ASC 740/IAS 12 and ensure compliance with internal controls.
Develop and implement strategies to optimize the company's tax position and advise on tax implications of business decisions.
Provide guidance on tax matters for mergers, acquisitions, and restructuring activities, ensuring optimal integration of tax considerations into deal structures.
Manage and coordinate federal and state tax audits and resolve inquiries from tax authorities.
Monitor and analyze changes in tax legislation and assess their impact.
Evaluate and improve tax operational processes and manage tax software, including leveraging technology platforms and digital tools to improve tax operational processes.
Advise internal teams on evolving compliance requirements, enabling consistent alignment between operational activities and legal obligations
What Kind of Things We're Most Interested in You Having
5+ years of relevant tax experience, preferably including public accounting and corporate tax department experience
Proven success in developing and implementing complex, multi-jurisdictional tax strategies that optimize efficiency while ensuring compliance
In-depth knowledge on how to interpret US federal, state, and local tax laws, ASC 740/IAS 12, US GAAP/IFRS, and corporate income tax regulations
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
A knack for working collaboratively within cross-functional teams while independently managing stakeholder relationships
Strong proficiency in tax preparation software, financial technology platforms, and advanced Excel
Ability to travel within US, Canada, and UK as needed (passport required)
